Schwarzweiss im Quadrat Grossformat - Foto Island Gas Station Borðeyri 1996 - limitierte Auflage in 80x80cm
Diese einsame Tankstelle habe ich 1996 in Bordeyri mit einer 4x5inch Kamera aufgenommen. 2024 wollte ich diese nochmals im Winter fotografieren.
Als ich dort ankam, war bis auf ein Entlüftungsrohr nichts mehr von dieser Tankstelle zu sehen. Einerseits fand ich es sehr schade kein Bild mehr aufnehmen zu können, andererseits wurde mir bewusst, das meine grossformatige Fotografie von 1996 zu einem unwiederbringlichem Zeitdokument geworden ist.
Bordeyri ist mit 16 Einwohnernder der kleinste Ort Islands , die Umgehungsstrasse hat der Tankstelle wohl das Benzin abgegraben.
Aufgrund des grossen Zuspruchs an der photo25 in Zürich habe ich mich entschlossen, eine limitierte Auflage von 5 (+2 AP) in der Grösse von 80x80cm gedruckt auf Büttenpapier im HALBE-Rahmen 100x100cm in Eiche Schwarz mit Passepartout und entspiegeltem Museumsglas anzubieten.
Handsigniert und durchnummeriert mit Echtheitszertifikat.

I took this lonely gas station in Bordeyri in 1996 with a 4x5 inch camera. In 2024 I wanted to photograph these again in winter.
When I got there there was no sign of this gas station except for a vent pipe. On the one hand, I felt it was a shame not to be able to take any more pictures, but on the other hand, I realized that my large-format photograph from 1996 had become an irretrievable contemporary document.
With a population of 16, Bordeyri is the smallest town in Iceland, and the bypass probably ran out of gas from the gas station.
Due to the great popularity at photo25 in Zurich, I have decided to offer a limited edition of 5 (+2 AP) in the size of 80x80cm printed on handmade paper in a HALBE frame 100x100cm in black oak with a passe-partout and anti-reflective museum glass.
